No surprise but I had to make another jig today.  I use a nice setup from Stew-Mac to route the binding channels along the ukulele body.  Because the ukulele is arched, you need to “float” the router along the outside edge vs resting the router on the body.  If you tried routing the binding channel resting the router on the body, the router bit would not be perpendicular to the body thus causing the bit enter at a slight angle.  The bottom of the channel would be deeper than the upper part of the channel.  The jig allows the router to float on the outside of the body allowing precise alignment to the edge.

Anyway, the holder I have doesn’t work for a concert-sized uke so made a new base.  Once made, it was an easy task to router the upper and lower channels for binding and glue in the binding. I leave the binding slightly proud. Tomorrow I’ll clean it all up and I’ll be ready to create the mortise/tenon to attach the neck.
