Another productive day in the shop.  Pulled the soundboard out of the go-bar deck and scalloped the tone bars.  It’s a balance between strength and sound quality.  I like to taper the ends till they almost become transparent.

Next up, making the back braces.  Quite time consuming and I needed to hand sand them with a 15 deg arch.  Really need to make a jig for this.  Anyway, glued them onto the back and will shape tomorrow.

Finally added a tail patch to dress up the bottom.  Use a razor saw to define the patch boundaries on the tail then used the Stew-Mac router jig freehand to route to a uniform depth to within 1/16″ or less of the boundaries.  A quick clean up with a sharp chisel, a bit of glue, and we’re done.  The fit between the patch and the tail is very tight.  Perfect!
