It’s Saturday so it’s YAJ (yet another jig) day!  My back glue up jigs are too large for this little concert so I quickly made a nice jig.  It’s funny how many jigs you need to make for each size ukulele you build.  I think I’ll pass on the soprano for awhile!

I spent considerable time cleaning up the inside of the back prior to glue up.  After cutting off excess material on the bandsaw, I used this nifty sander called “The Mouse” from B&D.  Basically a very detailed oscillating sander.  Great tool to sand in and around the bracing and back patch.  TO my eye, the braces were still a touch bulky so reshaped and sanded those as well.

The inside of the soundboard needed little extra work.  I did install the pickup Mark wanted by super-gluing the pickup on the bridge plate centered about the saddle.  Coiled the excess wire in such a way as to insure they will not touch the sides or top/back over time.  Take a good look as this is the last time we see the insides!

It was time to create the inside label.  I’ve designed my label to incorporate my new logo.  I’m pleased 🙂  Unfortunately a couple of photos I took today “disappeared”.  Weird.

Wrapped up the day with glueing on the back.  We’ll see how it went tomorrow!
