I did a bit of soul searching to decide to use a set of intensely figured Koa for this ukulele.  I’ve been saving this set for years waiting for the right ukulele.  This set has flame figure that is reminiscent of an abstract rocket flare.  Seems appropriate.

Cutting this was a a new experience as I programmed my CNC to make the inlay and inlay pockets within the soundboard.  Definitely a bit nervous during the cuts as I’d hate to lose such precious Koa!

I added a “medallion” to the rosette where another alien now lives.  This alien, like the end patch alien, is recon stone set within a white Mother-of-Pearl “moon”.  Paua Abalone with white & black purfling finish the soundboard inlay.
