Decided to add one final inlay, something for the heel end cap.  The End Cap is a decorative piece that sits atop the necks’ heel stack to meet the back of the ukulele.  It’s quite small; typically 3/4″ square and rounded at one end so the inlay would have to be very small.

Of course it would have to be a flying saucer!

The initial design was to have 4 “running lights” along the flying saucer hull but that proved to be too difficult.  Each light would have been less than a millimeter (around 1/32″) round.  I realized that was just too little to be even seen.

The ebony will be trimmed done once mounted on the necks’ heel.
