Our first step towards our moon landing is deciding how to get there.  I created this rocket ship sound port for our blast off.  Sound ports provide full tonal response to the player and is a standard feature in my ukuleles.  I added a carbon fiber patch of the same design on the inside of the sound port to provide stability & strength.  I found that the patch is most stable using thin super glue (vs. epoxy) as it holds up the the heat of bending.

Once the side sound port is made, I bend them in my side bending machine using the home-built temp controller.  As you can see in the photos, the bend was perfect.  No spring-back!
